Optimize Your Business’s Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine OptimizationAnyone who owns a small business knows that proper advertisement is crucial. Word of mouth is still generally the best option for advertising, but internet advertising is becoming very important as well. When your website is not found with a simple web search, you are then wasting precious resources and losing potential new clients. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) will be able to solve this problem.

Google can supply free keyword tools through Adwords. These tools can help you determine which one or two key phrases will bring in the most targeted traffic for your page or website. Try to use it to see how many people are searching for the key term you are considering using for your website. Once you have the amount of potential customers who are researching the key word per month, look at the cost to advertise on it. Remember, the higher the price, the more lucrative the term.

TIP! The second most important step in a good search engine optimization (SEO) strategy is to build a powerful keyword list. When you know who your potential audience is, you will then be able to determine which keywords they will use to find answers to their problems.

Search Engine Optimization Tips

Try setting up your website so that the oldest articles or blogs will still provide access to the most recent content. You could make a blog post 2 years earlier that could go viral today, so blogs can still get hits on that page for quite some time. Make sure that old posts give easy access to your main webpage and recent links so that you’ll be more successful in your results.

You should attempt to keep your meta keyword tags between 100 and 250 characters. This level should get the best results. By keeping your tags to about this length, you will ensure that you get the greatest advantages with regards to how the search engines rank your website. This strategy is a must for all search engine optimization projects.

You can try holding a contest or sweepstakes. This is a great way to attract new visitors to your website. Be sure that you find out about any applicable laws in your state. Check out a competitor’s website. You can then see how they run their contest.

TIP! Try to get ranking for what they call long tail keywords instead of simple keyword phrases. You will then have an easier time getting to the top of search engine optimization listings. For the most part, a lot of people search for phrases instead of single words, so your results will be higher.

Search Engine Optimization and Keyword Phrase

Next, add your keyword phrase into the website URL if you can not get a domain name that includes them. The search engines read the URL and place value on the words found there. You want your keywords to be found really fast by the search engines to increase your rankings.

If you follow these tips, you will be able to increase your internet business as well as improve your website traffic. This is a very inexpensive, if not a free way to immediately improve your business, client base, and overall profit. Be sure to not overlook this essential aspect of your company.

If You Don’t Use These Search Engine Optimization Tips, Your Competitors Will

Google Search Engine Optimization and Heat MapSearch engine optimization (Search Engine Optimization) is perhaps the most important internet marketing strategy around. Performing effective Search Engine Optimization on your website can dramatically increase your website’s exposure and the amount or organic, targeted traffic it receives. This articles contains some essential Search Engine Optimization tips for you to utilize on your website today.

A great way to get your site more visible is to begin posting blogs on your site. Blogs increase the size of your site and give you a way to connect with your visitors. This, in turn, increases your search engine visibility, which will give you many more visitors.

TIP! If you plan on putting out a press release, make sure it’s as keyword optimized as the rest of your site is. Make sure to use anchor text and links to your website within the text as it may be re-posted elsewhere, increasing the number if incoming links.

Search engines hate frames, so if you need to use them make sure to include a noframes tag and to create a full version of your site for the noframes client. If the search engines spiders can’t read your site then you are never going to move anywhere in the ranks. Creating a noframes site will ensure that you can even be indexed in the search engine.

Take advantage of free local business directories and bookmarking sites. Enter your website’s information into any or all of the free local business directories out there. Also enter your website’s URL and description into bookmarking sites. This will make your website slightly easier to be stumbled upon during web searches.

Keep the content as your base. The more content you have on your website, the more readers you will gain. No one likes to click on a site and be bombarded with links and advertisements. If you keep your own content front and center, readers will feel much more comfortable on your page and will likely keep coming back for more.

TIP! Providing content that can be linked to and referenced by other websites, bloggers, etc., is the simplest way to optimize your standing in search engines.

Search Engine Optimization – High Page Rank

Try and get links that point to your pages from high-quality websites. The search engines value quality over quantity, and you can usually get a lot more link juice from a reputable website with a very high page rank than you can from a large number of lowly ranked sites.

Hopefully the ideas above will help you to plan and employ a successful Search Engine Optimization campaign. You will then get the pleasure of seeing your website outrank the competition for your chosen keywords on search engine results pages (SERP). If you don’t have a website, you could use the SEO methods you have learned to become a Search Engine Optimization Guru.

Understanding the Google Heat Map

In 2007, researchers at Cornell University, my alma mater, conducted a study to determine the effectiveness of the Google Search Engine Results page, or SERP and in the process developed the Google Heat Map. Their strategy was very clever.

The Cornell University researchers fitted volunteer subjects with goggles similar to those used in fighter aircraft. These goggles track the subject’s eye position by watching the subject’s eye motion. The Cornell researchers recorded: a) the position that the subject looked at on the computer screen and b) the amount of time the subject spent looking at a given position.

The researchers then compiled all of the time and position data and created a “Heat Map”. The heat map ranks the time & position information into ten color bands. The Heat Map displays all of the data simultaneously.

By looking at the Google Heat Map, one can see that the following results were discovered:

1) right hand column of the Google Heat Map Page, Pay Per Click Ads gets about 10% to 15% viewing by the visitor subjects.

2) Banner Ads positioned at the top of the Google Heat Map Page also, get about 10% to 15% viewing by the visitor subjects.

3) In the Organic or Natural Search, position one, two and three get the most viewing by the visitor subjects.

Careful review of the data shows the following results:

The bar graph to the left shows that on average, position 1 of the Natural Search gets about 42% of the free visitor traffic.

Position number 2 gets about 12% of the free traffic, and position number three gets about 8% of the free visitor traffic. The trend continues downward as one might expect.

Other Networks Similar Results to Google Heat Map Results

Similar studies conducted on the private network AOL, showed similar results.

The implications of this research result are significant for businesses. For any business to be “In the Money” their website must rank at the top of the Google search results. Hence, websites compete aggressively for the top rank position on Google.

In addition, Google’s strategy is to frequently modifiy its ranking algorithm, which shuffles the order of the Organic Search Results on the page. Google’s approach forces businesses to continuously update and market their website in order to achieve and maintain the top search position.

Raleigh Internet Marketing Agency (RIMA) has developed an annual marketing program that assures business owners that their website will achieve top ranking position in the search engines. The Silver Marketing Plan, with its monthly deliverables assures that the right information is being published to the internet to feed the search engines and achieve the website ranking your business needs.

Three Secrets Revealed to Getting High Ranking in Google

I hear people talking about this all of the time…”How do I get high ranking in Google?” Well this guru is going to reveal three straight forward techniques you can use to get top Google ranking in under 36 hours!

I use these techniques in my work for clients and I use these techniques to get my own websites to the top of Google. I’m talking about page one, position one! There is no place higher in the Google search engine.

Now anyone can do this. You don’t need to be a programmer or a Geek or something. Real people can do it. It is easy. But it does require you to understand (a) what to do, and (b) how to do it. In a minute I am going to give you the what and the how to ranking high in Google Search Engine. These three SEO techniques work every time. They have never not worked for me. And they will work for you too.

So what are these three killer SEO techniques:
You should use the first technique, which I call the Google Ninja. If you have a website or are planning a website, your first inclination is to come up with a really unique name for your company. Then you want to Brand your new company/website so you register your unique company name as your domain name, your website URL. This is the kiss of death. I confirms that you are not a skilled marketer and will doom your website to obscurity for sure.

The First secret to ranking high in Google is this…identify the high performance keywords that describe your business niche and register a URL with those high performance keywords in it!, not your unique business name.

The Second secret to ranking high in Google is to setup your new keyword rich URL and write a Product Review of whatever you are intending to focus your business on. This technique ensures that you will be first to write about your business with keyword rich content on a keyword rich URL. Being first has its benefits.

Google – It’s All About the Backlinks

Every time Google changes their algorithm, the same thing always happens. Blog and forum comments are flooded with people who proclaim that “the sky is falling”.

This has never been more true than with Google’s latest Panda update. The cries from the sky-is-falling crowd have been louder than I’ve ever heard them before.

Are the basic SEO tactics (quality keyword rich content plus lots of links) still working? So how much really, has changed?

Hasn’t everyone been preaching that Google has updated its algorithm to lessen the value of backlinks and to make site and content quality more important? Yeah, that’s what I keep hearing, and yet my own sites  still rank well.   That’s because I provide quality keyword rich content with high quality backlinks.

I have several sites that I have not updated for years and they continue to hold the top position in Google.  Why?  Two reasons, first , good keyword research identified highly valuable keywords, and second, high PR placed relevant articles with keyword rich anchor text.

Now, if you believed everything you read on the forums and in blog comments, there’s no way sites like this will remain ranked because Google knows all and sees all and their algorithms prevent those kinds of things. Um, no so.

Through all of the updates, the May Days, the Farmers, the Pandas and so on, many of the sites I have built — and other sites that I manage for clients — continue to rank well for their keywords.

That’s because, despite everything you may have heard, and everything Google would like you to think, ranking in Google is still all about the backlinks.

I’ve always said, and continue to say, that ranking in Google is a simple two step formula:

Quality Keyword Rich Content + Lots of High PR Back Links = Good Rankings

And it’s not that the quality of the content is really so important (Google cannot understand content), but that quality content invites more backlinks, and those backlinks are what ultimately get you ranked.
